Education
Teacher stipends, books and storm-safe classrooms for 180 village schools that would otherwise close each monsoon.
Sundarbans, West Bengal
Why schools close
Cyclones damage roofs, teachers leave for better pay and families pull children out to work. We fix all three: we rebuild with raised floors, top up teacher salaries and run a meal program that keeps attendance high.
Measured by attendance
Across our partner schools, attendance rose from 58% to 91% in two years. We publish the numbers every term, school by school.
