The four-hour walk

In the villages around Barmer, girls as young as eight carry water for most of the morning. We drill solar-powered borewells close to homes and train local committees to maintain them, so the water keeps flowing long after we leave.

What your gift does

$40 provides a family filter for five years. $1,200 funds a community tap stand. Every well is mapped and photographed, and you receive an update when the one you helped fund goes live.
